Our Lady of Wayside School nominated for $25,000 grant from Clorox
Our Lady of the Wayside (OLW) School in Arlington Heights is nominated for a Clorox Power a Bright Future Grant to build a safer and bigger playground for its students and the neighboring community.
This is a national grant opportunity, and the organization with the most votes at the end of the voting period wins $50,000. The next top vote getters in each of the three categories - Play, Create, and Explore - will receive $25,000 grants.
OLW is asking for the community's support to become the top winner or the winner of the Play category.
Anyone over the age of 13 can text the message Clorox5597 to 44144 one time each day. Additionally, votes can be cast for OLW online at www.powerabrightfuture.com by searching Our Lady of the Wayside in Arlington Heights.
The voting period began on Oct. 24 and runs through Dec. 9. The playground at OLW is about 20 years old with much of the play equipment being outdated for the the younger elementary and preschool students.
The playground is used by the school students, as well as parish and neighborhood families.
