Auditions Nov. 5 for Music On Stage's 'Wizard of Oz'

PALATINE, ILL. Nov. 1, 2011 – Music On Stage, winner of the Illinois Theatre Association's Excellence in Theatre award, will hold auditions for "The Wizard of Oz" on Saturday, Nov. 5, at Cutting Hall, 150 E. Wood St. in Palatine.

In addition to adults, MOS is seeking to cast 27 children (ages 8 to 12 and under 5 feet in height) to play the Munchkins.

Auditions for children only will be held Saturday, Nov. 5 from 9:30 - 11 a.m.

There will be 10 performances of "The Wizard of Oz" from Feb. 11-26. Performances will be Friday and Saturday evenings, as well as a Sunday matinee. There will also be Saturday matinees on Feb. 18 and 25.

Those auditioning should be prepared to perform 32 bars of a song from "The Wizard of Oz," and be prepared to dance.

Children will be placed in groups of 6 to be taught a song and a dance. An accompanist will be provided.
