School finance discussion:

A school finance expert will explain the complex topic of Illinois school finance to taxpayers with limited school finance knowledge and experience on Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 6:30 p.m. in the Fremont Intermediate School media center, 28754 N. Fremont Center Road, Mundelein. The speaker is Tom Kersten, professor of Educational Leadership at Roosevelt University in Chicago. He is the author of, “Taking the Mystery Out of Illinois School Finance”. Kersten will discuss key school finance revenue and expenditure issues that are affecting public schools today. He is a former superintendent in Skokie School District 68, Skokie. He also served as principal and teacher in various northern Illinois school districts.
