Images: Local kids Halloween costumes, final update

Was it Spider-Man? Or a fairy princess? Or maybe it was a Cabbage Patch doll? You know you had your favorite Halloween costume as a child. We asked our readers to send us pictures of their children this year and, while we did see some superheros, we also saw some extremely creative costumes. Send us your pictures to hallween@dailyherald.com.

It’s nice to see that even monster siblings get along sometimes. Aiden Conner, 2, and Sophia Conner, 3, of Montgomery make up Mom’s Boo Crew, says mom Nicole Conner.
Invention, my dear friends, is 93% perspiration, 6% Electricity, 4% Evaporation, and 2% butterscotch ripple. And some fabric for Ashleigh Lindhorn, 12, of Mount Prospect.
Whether you like young Elvis or old Elvis, you gotta admit, Chase James Domain, 1, Buffalo Grove, is rockin' this Elvis costume.
Oompa Loompa, do-ba-da-dee, if you are wise you'll listen to me ... or, rather, Caleigh May Lindhorn, 2, Mount Prospect.
Amanda Alberth, 14, Schaumburg, was circling the skies of the Northwest suburbs for Halloween. (Theresa Alberth, 10,
We love that Caidence Karina Money, 14-months-old, Crystal Lake, is learning at an early age how important it is to have the perfect pair of sparkly shoes to polish off an outfit.
Meaghan McGreal, 4, of Schaumburg is the most fashionable we’ve seen among the undead.
James Barreto III, 4, of Elgin is ready to save the world.
Who knew kitty cats like pacifiers? Brianna LaCassa, 14 months, Darien.
Sean Butler, 12, of Itasca made this costume himself by using cardboard for the base and clothes from a resale shop.
Is it ironic that Snowball and Snow White are dressed as pirates for Halloween? Or just odd? You’d have to ask their owners, Ben and Samina Money of Hoffman Estates.
We hope Mia Grace DeNardis, 4 months, of Homer Glen comes home with something sweeter than a carrot after trick-or-treating.
Autumn Meadors, 8, of Burbank is dressed up as the Queen of Hearts.
Who says dragons are scary? Not Teagan Jeras, 3, of Burbank.
We hope Sir Tristin Jeras, 5, Burbank, isn’t going to go out dragon hunting on Halloween.
Don’t forget to keep some dog treats on hand with those candy bars. You never know when trick-or-treaters like Lily and Poppy Johnson, both age 3, of St. Charles will drop by.
Mya Marcellis, 3, of Hanover Park is ready to collect some sweet loot on Halloween.
Jack Meilinger, 4, will be keeping the world, and Mount Prospect, safe on Halloween. Just don’t let him go into the woods or you may lose him and all the camouflage.
Nicole Mobley, 18 months, of St. Charles, makes one super cute kitty (we hope that trampoline isn’t too heavy for her to carry from house to house).
Keep an eye out for these gnomes, Myles Miedwig, 4, and Grayce Miedwig, 2, in Carpentersville. Please give them candy, not travel reviews.
Ryan Joslin, 14, Wheeling, designed and sewed this costume, which is modeled after the video game Assassin’s Creed. He even made the leather pieces himself. Impressive.
It may be hard to believe, but this “animal” really is a 9-year-old named Brena Hernandez.
Abigael Manning, 8, of Roselle, makes a perfect Wednesday Adams. Her mom, Michele, made the costume for about $15.
Anne Davis pairs up with her 10-month-old son, Lee, to tag team as Cruella de Ville and a Dalmatian puppy while trick-or-treating in Round Lake.
Four-year-old Tessa Alberth got to break away from the 101 Dalmatians theme and go as out as Sleeping Beauty.
We sure hope Kaetlyn Dressendorfer, 12, Lake Villa, didn’t turn blue from eating too much candy.
Ryan Pearson, 12, from Arlington Heights, makes a glow as a jellyfish.
We hope Conner Roth, 3, Glen Ellyn, got to bring home more than just trash on Halloween.
Paige Singla, 9, Winfield, is ready to twist and shout at the sock hop in this costume made be her grandmother.
Brooke Singla, 4, Winfield dresses up as her favorite snack — grapes.
Nothing against Brooke and her grapes, but we think 6-year-old Brandon Singla’s cookies are a tastier snack.
Caden Carnes, 5, Downers Grove, is ready to slay dragons — hopefully none that are pictured here.
Izabella Grace Teal, 7 months, Lindenhurst, makes a beautiful bovine. Sorry, we just can’t bear to call any little girl a cow.
