Cub Scouts Volunteer to Raise Funds to Fight Breast Cancer

Buffalo Grove's Cub Scout Pack 140 and the local Dominicks joined forces in the fight against breast cancer this past weekend, in a joint fund-raising effort.

The scouts needed a location to sell popcorn. Dominicks needed volunteers to work its breast cancer fundraising station. The two groups decided to work together. The scouts sold popcorn to raise funds for their Pack outside of Dominicks earlier this past month. The Cub Scouts manned Dominicks' breast cancer fundraising root beer float stand for 16 hours, Oct. 22 – Oct. 23 in exchange for using Dominicks' site for popcorn sales.

Service is an important component of scouting and Pack 140 encourages scouts to volunteer within their community. “What better way to support the community and a very worthwhile organization,” said a Pack 140 spokesperson
