What to watch: The Blue Jackets are off to a miserable 1-8-1 start. They are missing prized off-season acquisition Jeff Carter (broken foot) along with Jared Boll (thumb) and Kristian Huselius (torn muscle). Columbus ranks last in the NHL in penalty killing and is 28th on the power play. Ray Emery is expected to make his second start of the season in goal for the Hawks.
