Schaumburg woman honored for work with elderly
Schaumburg resident Mary A. Nagy was recently awarded the 2011 Excellence in Gerontological Nursing by the National Gerontological Nursing Association (NGNA) for consistently providing outstanding care to older adults and for serving as an inspirational role model and mentor for health care workers. Nagy currently works at Oak Crest Residence in Elgin where she serves as the health care coordinator for the care of persons with Alzheimer’s disease. She has been the support group leader for the Alzheimer’s support group for Schaumburg Township for the past 12 years. Nagy has also served as a member of the village of Schaumburg Committee on Aging since 1983 and a member of the village of Schaumburg Sister Cities Commission since 2002.
