Man stabbed outside Schaumburg McDonald's

Schaumburg Police are still searching for a man involved in a stabbing in the parking lot of a McDonald's on East Higgins Road Tuesday night.

The 37-year-old male victim walked into the McDonald's at the intersection of East Higgins and North Plum Grove roads at about 8:15 p.m. with wounds after being stabbed in the parking lot, said Sgt. John Nebl of the Schaumburg Police Department.

He said the victim and the offender were driving in the same vehicle in Schaumburg when a verbal altercation started to turn physical.

Nebl said the two pulled over into the McDonalds parking lot, the physical argument escalated, and resulted in the victim being stabbed.

Nebl refused to release the names of the men involved except to say the victim was a resident of Chicago.

He was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in serious condition, but is suffering from nonlife threatening injuries, Nebl said.

Nebl said police know who the offender is and are searching for him, but he has not been located. It's unclear if the offender fled the scene on foot or in a vehicle, Nebl said.

A description of the suspect was not available.
