Young Fox Valley Rep Actors are ready to Shake Up the Mainstage Elvis-style with FVR Youth Ensemble's "All Shook Up"

The kids and young adults of Fox Valley Repertory are getting All Shook Up, as they are busy rehearsing for their upcoming performances. This talented group of 8-18 year-olds will take the stage to perform an energetic Elvis-inspired musical featuring some of his greatest hits in November.

The production of All Shook Up, rated G, can be enjoyed by all on Fridays, November 11 and 18 at 7:30 p.m.; Saturdays, November 12 and 19 at 10:30 a.m.; and Sunday, November 20 at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased through the Pheasant Run Box Office at (630) 584-6342 or online by visiting www.foxvalleyrep.org. Tickets are priced at $15 for adults; $12 for children 12 and under.

Into a square little town in a square little state rides a guitar-playing roustabout who changes everything and everyone he meets in this hip-swiveling, lip-curling musical fantasy that'll have the audience jumpin' out of their blue suede shoes with such classics as "Heartbreak Hotel," "Jailhouse Rock," and "Don't Be Cruel."

At the conclusion of each show, actors will be collecting donations for the FVR Academy Scholarship campaign and a fellow nonprofit in the community – Lazarus House – an emergency shelter, transitional living center and outreach program serving the homeless and those at risk of homelessness in Central and Rural Kane County. Currently Lazarus House is serving unprecedented numbers of guests; most notably the current number being served is a staggering 117% increase over October 2010 nightly averages for children and 61% increase for women.

“Lazarus House is deeply grateful for the talented young people performing in the Fox Valley Rep Performing Arts Academy's Youth Ensemble production of All Shook Up,” says Lazarus House Executive Director Liz Eakins. “We are humbled that they chose to collect donations after each performance to assist in supporting our neighbors in crisis who are currently calling Lazarus House home.”
