Let the nonprofits take over? Bad idea.

The Daily Herald has taken the last week to explore the negative impact of delayed state payments to nonprofits who provide services to vulnerable citizens. Isn’t this the model put forth by Joe Walsh-type tea partyers and Ron Paul-type libertarians as the solution to social ills? Get the government out of it and let nonprofits take care of things. It seems that Illinois is a laboratory for testing their proposal. How’s it going so far?
