Vernon Hills High snares donation:

Vernon Hills High School will receive a $2,500 donation through “Give Back to School” Program from Westfield shopping center. Westfield will donate $57,500 to local schools through its national program to be used to support arts and music, sciences, physical education, libraries and technology resources. Vernon Hills High School was chosen by shoppers at Westfield Hawthorn and through online voting. The win will be marked in a ceremony at the center at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26 to be attended by principal Ellen Cwick and student council members.
