Naperville cop, woman, suffer minor injuries after woman strikes squad.

A Naperville police officer and a Westchester woman are being treated for minor injuries at Edward Hospital following a Thursday afternoon crash.

Mary Coogan, 69, was driving her 2003 Mercury Marquis west on Ogden Avenue, near River Road, at 1:40 p.m. when she struck the unidentified officer’s marked police car, authorities said.

Police said the squad car’s sirens and emergency lights were activated when it entered the intersection, en route to an emergency call.

The Naperville Police Department’s traffic unit is investigating the crash and no citations have yet been issued.
