‘Golf for a Child’ outing raises $155,000 for CASA

Submitted by CASA Kane County

CASA Kane County’s annual “Golf for a Child Invitational” was held Aug. 29 at the Royal Fox Country Club and St. Charles Country Club. The event attracted 215 golfers from throughout the Chicago area and raised $155,000 for the Court Appointed Special Advocate program in Kane County. The evening honored Todd and Susan Maynes of St. Charles for their long-standing and generous support of the organization.

The golf outing featured several contests as well as a grand raffle, 50/50 cash raffle, and silent auction. The first-place team at St. Charles Country Club consisted of Derek Tresnak, Jason Warden, Neal Kuhn and Daniel O’Brien, all from Cyberdyne Masonry Corp. The winning team at Royal Fox Country Club included Bill Shelley, Jode Bunce, Bryan Petry, and Leon McNair, playing on behalf of the Wadsworth Foundation and Eby-Brown. Pat Whiteside of Nicor won first prize in the grand raffle — a full set of PING golf clubs and a round of golf at Black Sheep Golf Club.
