Vet offers salute to his brother, ‘G.I. Joe’

From Independence Day to Labor Day the men and women of the Armed Forces were honored, from Washington D.C. — some veterans were flown to have dinner — to the many parades in all our suburbs.

From Medal of Honor recipients to the GIs, all were honored.

One of my heroes was “G.I. Joe,” a corpsman in the 133rd Collection Co. in France during World War II. His job was to collect the wounded soldiers and bring them back to where they could be treated.

This G.I. Joe is G.I. Joe C. My brother and my hero.
