Mt. Prospect celebrates fall with day of fests
The Mount Prospect Downtown Merchants Association invites everyone to the annual Fall Festival and Oktoberfest Celebration on Saturday, Oct. 15 in downtown Mount Prospect at Emerson Street and Busse Avenue.
The Fall Festival begins the day, when from 1-4 p.m. there will be hay rides, pony rides, two moon bounces, pumpkin decorating, crafts and balloons. There will be the never-ending trick or treat candy line made up of 30 local businesses, and a stilt walker. Kids can snack on fall classics such as taffy apples and German pretzels or enjoy a full array of German food. All activities are free and sponsored by the Mount Prospect Downtown Merchants Association.
Stick around for Oktoberfest, which begins immediately after the Fall Festival, from 4-10:30 p.m. Authentic German food, beer and music by Phenix will highlight the evening under a heated tent. The Best German Attire Contest will be part of the fun.
The two-event festival will be guaranteed Gemutlichkeit (Good Times) for all!
