Pray for a stop to this downhill slide

Pray for a stop to this downhill slide

For years we have educated our children to believe they were not created for any specific purpose because our origins supposedly indicate we are random accidents. Naturalism has caused a culture of nihilism to flourish.

If we are not created by God in his image and likeness, but are just the results of cosmic chance, then there is no absolute truth and each one has to decide what is true for them. If some choose to be in a gang, a drive-by shooting isn’t a matter of right and wrong; it’s part of the initiation.

If one’s truth is hate for his parents or brother, according to the logical conclusions of evolution and naturalism, he is free to act on it. After all, if there is no absolute truth and you and I are just random accidents, who is to say it is wrong?

From a psychiatric perspective, people who have broken with reality, either temporarily or permanently are capable of heinous acts. So are people who are not psychotic but have been deluded into believing that their truth is truth. Adults under 50 or so have grown up in this culture that has systematically removed God and his absolute truth from our schools.

Parents who don’t know where their high schoolchildren are all night, who assume awake and alert parents will chaperone sleepovers, without checking, kids who act like they don’t know right from wrong, drinking all night and coming to school drunk — oh, wait a minute, that’s right — there is no absolute standard of right or wrong. At least that is the lie we’ve been taught for more than 40 years.

We had best be willing to teach creationism along with evolution, get the Ten Commandments back in the schools, repent, and pray that God stops this downhill slide before it is too late.
