Palatine Public Library hosts mental illness program

The League of Women Voters of the Palatine Area and the North/Northwest Suburban Task Force on Supportive Housing for Individuals with Mental Illness will put on a program, In Our Own Voice, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11 at the Palatine Public Library, 700 N. North Court.

The program will focus on what it's like to live with mental illness, communities' influence on functionality and what people can do to help. The program includes a video produced by the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) and a question-and-answer session. Several local NAMI chapters are co-sponsoring the event.
