Help stock Mt. Prospect Food Pantry Oct. 22

The Mount Prospect Fire Department and Mount Prospect Firefighters Local 4119 will be sponsoring a food drive October 22, 2011 at the Randhurst Costco Store (999 N. Elmhurst Road). All donations will go towards re-stocking the Village's Emergency Food Pantry for the upcoming holiday season. Fire Department personnel will be in front of the Costco Store from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm to accept all food pantry donations.

The Village's Emergency Food Pantry provides groceries to Mount Prospect families in need of immediate assistance - but the pantry is almost empty! The Fire Department is asking residents to consider making a donation of non-perishable food items, paper products, toiletries, or diapers to help families in Mount Prospect. Cash donations and gift certificates are also appreciated. A complete list of the current food pantry needs can be found on the Village's website at www.mountprospect.org.

In addition to the event on October 22, the Fire Department will also be accepting food pantry donations at all three of its fire stations on Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 5:00 starting October 8, 2011 until November 19, 2011. Residents can drop off donations at any of the following fire stations:

• Fire Station #12 located at 1601 W. Golf Road

• Fire Station #13 located at 112 E. Northwest Highway

• Fire Station #14 located at 2000 E. Kensington Road

Donations will also be accepted at the Downtown Merchants Association Fall Fest/Oktoberfest events being held on Saturday, October 15 in downtown Mount Prospect. For more details go to www.downtownmountprospect.com.
