Dream Act unfair to taxpaying public

So, Gov. Quinn, you’ve signed the Illinois Dream Act. Is this another of your vote-getting ploys? Now that you’re taking care of the poor and the illegals (that should get you quite a few votes), when are you going to do something as great for the kids of the middle class, taxpaying citizens — you know, the ones on whose back the revenue for running the state comes. Due to the current economic situation, many are financially strapped or recently unemployed. But I forgot, they’re probably the same people who’ve raised responsible young adults who will get whatever loans and work they can to get their college educations and then spend 10 to 15 years paying for their educations.

The only form of a Dream Act I would support is citizenship after serving two years of active military duty. If they showed they’d be willing to fight for the honor of being an American citizen, then they can go to school with help from the G.I. bill. They will have earned it and our respect.
