Cancer society's Walk & Roll Fox Valley seeks volunteers

Individuals who want to make a difference in the fight against cancer are invited to attend an informational meeting to learn more about volunteering for the American Cancer Society's Walk & Roll Fox Valley event. The meeting will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, at Panera Bread, 2484 N. Randall Road, Elgin.

As one of the society's largest annual fundraisers in Illinois, Walk & Roll is a family-friendly event where teams of friends, families and co-workers unite to honor or remember loved ones that have battled cancer. Walk & Roll is a 5-mile walk, 10-mile inline skate or 15-mile bike ride to raise funds for cancer research, education, advocacy and patient services. It will take place on Saturday, May 5, at Festival Park in Elgin.
