You can review Wheaton parks budget

If you have wanted to take a closer look at the Wheaton Park District’s 2012 budget, now is the time.

Park officials Wednesday opened a 30-day inspection period that will lead into a public hearing to be held next month. The hearing will be at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 19, at City Hall, 303 W. Wesley St.

The 109-page document will be displayed on the park district’s website, the Wheaton Public Library and all park district facilities.

Board president Ray Morrill asked the commissioners to submit questions they may have about the budget to Executive Director Mike Benard and staff during the next few weeks so the board can consider them at its next meeting.

By Illinois law, a governing body must present a draft budget and display it for 30 days before its adoption. Additionally, before money can be budgeted and appropriated, the board must hold a public hearing.
