Community Connections Center's 2nd anniversary celebration

The Village of Mount Prospect Community Connections Center celebrates its 2nd Anniversary Thursday, September 22, 2011.

The center's most prominent services are those offered by the Village of Mount Prospect's Human Services Department and the Mount Prospect Public Library's South Branch. Both offer the full range of their services at this compact site.

Human Services Director Nancy Morgan said, “I'm thrilled at how successful this resource center has been during the past two years of its existence. We knew we were onto something really special as we were developing it. It is wonderful to see how the residents have utilized its many services.”

The Mount Prospect Police Department has a liaison on site. School District 214 Community Education, School District 59 and Northwest Community Hospital partner with the Center to deliver vital services to the community.

Community Connections Center Coordinator Victoria Bran notes, “Oftentimes the persons who utilize this site are unfamiliar with, and often intimidated by, larger institutions. As patrons access the services offered at the Center, they increase their knowledge, develop their skills and utilize community resources in a more effective manner.”

The Community Connections Center is located at 1711 W. Algonquin Road in the Crystal Court shopping area of Mount Prospect. The Second Anniversary celebration will be held September 22 from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. The opening ceremonies begin at 4:00 p.m.
