Schaumburg traffic campaign leads to arrests, citations
Schaumburg police have released the results of their participation in an Illinois Department of Transportation grant program for a Labor Day Enforcement Campaign from Aug. 19 through Sept. 5.
During the campaign, Schaumburg officers made two DUI arrests and issued 26 speeding citations, 12 seat belt violations, 18 insurance violations and 41 tickets for other moving and equipment violations. Officers also made, one warrant arrest and two for driving on a suspended license.
The campaign focuses on reducing traffic crash injuries and fatalities by concentrating enforcement efforts on occupant restraint violations, speeding violations and impaired driving.
