Cantigny Park seeks entries for student art contest

Cantigny Park and SCARCE present the third annual Cantigny Green Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, at Cantigny, 1S151 Winfield Road, Wheaton.

Among the many fun and educational components of the fair will be a recycled art contest open to high school and college students.

Entrants must use recycled materials or items that can be recycled, such as metal, glass, plastic and paper. Cash prizes are $150, $75 and $50, along with an honorable mention, recognizing originality, creativity and best use of recycled content.

All students will receive a certificate of recognition.

Entries must be delivered to Cantigny Park by Monday, Sept. 19. Entry forms and contest guidelines are available online at cantigny.org or by calling (630) 260-8266.

Other attractions will include eco-friendly vendors, the FashionEcoNista Show, a screening of the documentary “Green Fire,” a recycling extravaganza from 9 a.m. to noon, children's activities, local farmers market, cooking demonstrations, food, entertainment and more.

Admission is free; parking costs $2 before 10 a.m. and $5 after.
