Get the word out about Perry

As a staunch Democrat (as I am rather poor) I have taken little interest in the Republican electoral campaign.

But with Gov. Rick Perry of Texas gaining ground every day, I do wonder (as do others in my huge retirement community) how a man who once said that Social Security was a “Ponzi scheme” and who governs a state with the very lowest rate of health and welfare care for the poor, elderly and minorities gets away with no publicity or newspaper awareness? Are you all so afraid of the tea party? (Yes.)

And is it not ironic that a governor who is so against government programs that he once mentioned secession is now $5.2 billion in catastrophic debt from the God-given terrible drought in Texas and will need help? (No paper mention of that either.)

Can I, at age 88, fight the vicious tea party for you weak-kneed newspapers? We seniors fear but concede a Republican presidential victory.
