Elgin d. Proviso East: Bri Hamilton had 5 kills and an ace and Hope Demel added 8 assists, 2 kills and 2 sigs as Elgin’s girls volleyball team won its first match of the season Monday, defeating Proviso East 25-11, 25-21. Taylor Powers had 8 assists and 2 sigs and Rachel Roth added an ace, 4 digs and 2 assists for the Maroons (1-2).
