Auditions Aug. 20, 23 for 'The Nutcracker: A Musical'
LAKE ZURICH, Ill. (August 16, 2011) – Young Actor's Studio Chicago is holding auditions on August 20 and 23 for its December production of “The Nutcracker—A Musical”, a unique version of the classic story that incorporates acting, singing and dancing in a musical that is set to Tchaikovsky's original score.
Actors ages 8-18 are invited to audition to become a part of the best of the best in Local Youth Theater offering Trained Theater Professionals working closely with small, polished casts.
About "The Nutcracker- a Musical": This unique version of The Nutcracker uses acting, singing and dancing to capture the magic and fantasy of the original story and will be sure to inspire a holiday mood in theater-goers of all ages.
On Christmas Eve, the mysterious Godfather Drosselmeier presents Clara with an unusual Nutcracker. That night she is awakened by a band of renegade mice, led by the evil Mouse King. The Nutcracker, joined by a Ballerina, Feline Legation, and Mistress Clara, battles the rodents, and defeats the Mouse King. The heroes travel to the Land of Toys to rescue a princess from the wicked Mouse Queen. Enjoy the excitement and pageantry of this delightful musical set to Tchaikovsky's original score and experience again the magic of Christmas.
