Fire damages house in Glendale Heights
Fire caused significant damage Wednesday to a house in Glendale Heights.
Firefighters found the home on the 1600 block of Jeffery Lane fully engulfed in flames when they arrived about 1 p.m., officials said.
It took crews from the Glenside Fire Protection District and other area departments about a half-hour to extinguish the blaze.
The residents, who were home at the time of the fire, escaped safely. No injuries were reported.
Glenside Fire Chief Russ Wood said the blaze apparently began in the attached garage; officials are still investigating the cause.
Flames and heat from the blaze caused minor damage to the siding of a neighboring house.
