Jones-Drew won’t apologize for Cutler tweets

Bears fans shouldn’t hold their breath waiting for Jacksonville Jaguars running back Maurice Jones-Drew to apologize for his remarks criticizing Bears quarterback Jay Cutler’s toughness.

According to a report by Kara Henderson of the NFL Network, Jones-Drew doesn’t regret his January post.

“I haven’t gotten a chance to, but I wouldn’t apologize because I didn’t do anything wrong, I don’t think,” Jones-Drew said in an interview that aired on Tuesday night.

“I don’t feel I did anything wrong. I just said what everybody else was thinking at the time.”

After the Jan. 23 NFC Championship game, in which Cutler was sideline in the third quarter due to a knee injury, Jones sent this tweet: “Hey I think the urban meyer rule is effect right now … When the going gets tough……..QUIT.”

The Bears later revealed that Cutler suffered a sprained medial collateral ligament in the game, which the Green Bay Packers won.
