Kids’ activity explores wildlife at Barrington area creek

Citizens for Conservation will present “Up a Creek with CFC,” a No Child Left Inside class, from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 20. Join in a fun-filled afternoon with Tom Vanderpoel. The class is open to children ages 6 and older, though caregivers are required to attend. The cost is $5 per child; families with multiple children pay $5 for the first child and $1 for each additional child. Meet at CFC headquarters: 459 W. Highway 22 in Lake Barrington — the white farmhouse with a silo across from Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital. The group will drive to a local site and use seining nets to see the wildlife in the water. Dress for the weather and muddy conditions.
