Woodridge man charged with killing Aurora man

A Woodridge man has been charged in the fatal shooting of an Aurora man Thursday night on Chicago's West Side.

Miguel Vazquez, 26, of the 7900 block of Everglade Avenue, was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Robert Solomon, 33, said Chicago police spokesman Daniel O'Brien.

The shooting occurred around 8:30 p.m. on the 4300 block of West Dickens Street. Solomon was shot in the side of the chest.

He was pronounced dead at the scene at 9:30 p.m., according to the Cook County medical examiner.

Vazquez was also charged with one count of possession of cannabis. Details on his bond hearing Saturday morning were not available.
