Bears agree to terms with DT Adams

Unrestricted free agent defensive tackle Anthony Adams has agreed with the Bears on a two-year deal, which he will be able to sign at 4 p.m. today.

The eight-year veteran has played the past four seasons with the Bears, starting 36 games, including all 16 last season. With the off-season release of 3-technique tackle Tommie Harris, the Bears were anxious to re-sign Adams, despite the presence of second-round pick Stephen Paea, who is expected to be a significant player in the Bears’ DT rotation.

Adams is primarily a nose tackle, but he can play both tackle positions, as can Paea.
