27 Advocate Condell doctors named to Top Doctors List by U.S. News

Twenty-seven Advocate Condell Medical Center affiliated physicians have been nominated by their peers and selected as national Top Doctors by U.S. News Media Group and Castle Connolly Medical Ltd.

Castle Connolly assembled the roster of Top Doctors by soliciting nominations from physicians in academic medical centers, specialty hospitals, regional hospitals and physician practices. Its research team then reviewed each nominee's training, achievements and appointments, among other credentials.

“We are pleased and honored these physicians have been recognized for their expertise in the caring of their patients,” said Advocate Condell president Ann Errichetti, M.D., M.B.A. “The list represents not only their professional skills but also their commitment to providing the best possible care for those coming to Advocate Condell.”

The following doctors were recognized:

Stephen Amesbury, MD; Mohammed Bawani, MD; John Benge, MD; Thomas Burnstine, MD; Jonathan Citow, MD; Michael K. Cochran, MD; Roger Collins, MD; Narendra Desai, MD; William Gatti, MD; Robert Hadesman, MD; John Mayer, MD; Erik Nelson, MD; Lisa Peck-Rosen MD; Ira Piel, MD; Neil Pollock MD; Scott Sagerman, MD; Luis Salazar, MD; Michael Scheer, MD; Fahd Jajeh, MD; Jay Levin, MD; Robert Malloy, MD; John Matseshe, MD; Adriana Spellman, MD; Donald Steinmuller, MD; Paul Strohmayer, MD; Dean Tsarwhas, MD; and Reuben Weisz, MD.

The U.S. News Top Doctors list was created in collaboration with Castle Connolly Medical Ltd., publisher of America's Top Doctors and other consumer health guides, drawing from Castle Connolly's database of peer-recommended physicians.

U.S. News Top Doctors is a free searchable directory available at www.usnews.com/top-doctors that lists nearly 30,000 peer-nominated physicians across the country. The list builds on the 22nd annual Best Hospitals rankings released last week, which ranked Advocate Condell as one of the Best Hospitals in the Chicago metro area. The Best Hospital list is available at www.usnews.com/best-hospitals.
