Des Plaines assesses flood damage
Des Plaines city officials are urging residents and businesses to participate in a survey to assess flood damage from the July 23 storms.
The survey results will be reported to Cook County and used as the basis for determining whether the city is eligible to receive state and federal assistance for flood losses.
To participate in the survey, visit the self-assessment survey website at myflood.desplaines.org and complete the online form by 5 p.m. Friday. Paper copies of the survey form are available at the Des Plaines Police Department, 1420 Miner St.No funds are available at this time for reimbursement of flood damages. If state or federal agencies determine that the city qualifies for flood damage reimbursement, residents will be informed at that time.
