Advocate Condell cancer program accredited by Commission on Cancer

Libertyville: The Advocate Condell Medical Center cancer program has been granted the Three-Year Accreditation with Commendation (CoC) by the American College of Surgeons (ACoS) hospital officials announced.

The accreditation followed an onsite evaluation by a physician surveyor during which Advocate Condell demonstrated a level of compliance with one or more standards that represent the full scope of the cancer program. Those standards include cancer committee leadership, cancer data management, clinical services, research, quality improvement and community outreach.

"This accreditation demonstrates our ongoing commitment to providing the highest level of cancer care at Advocate Condell," said Terrie Hagstrom RN, MSN, Manager Medical-Renal, Oncology Unit Outpatient Infusion Center. "Patients and their families can be assured they are receiving the most comprehensive range of treatment for those with cancer."

Established in 1922 by the American College of Surgeons, the CoC is a consortium of professional organizations dedicated to improving survival rates and quality of life for cancer patients through standard-setting, prevention, research, education, and the monitoring of comprehensive, quality care.
