On Sunday, Justin Coffman of Algonquin and Joe DiGrazia of Lake in the Hills, judge the Illinois State Regional Teen Battle of the Bands Competition during the Algonquin Founders Day festival. Coffman works at J.C.s Guitars and Music Lessons, and DiGrazia is the manager for Guitar Center in Algonquin. Six bands competed for the chance to play at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield this summer.

The recent winners of the Oregon, IL band competition, One Step Closer, preformed at the Illinois State Regional Teen Battle of the Bands Competition during the Algonquin Founders Day festival on Sunday. The band originates from Oregon and has four members: Zach Smith, 17, (lead singer), Braden Barton, 17, (drums), Phil Godby, 18, (bass), and Tyler Bowers, 17, (guitar). Six bands competed in front of four local judges, for the chance to preform at the Illinois State Fair this summer.
