Wanted: Six Brilliant W. Chicago businesses

West Chicago, Illinois: July 15, 2011 – It's time to stand up and cheer for your favorite West Chicago business. The City of West Chicago is accepting nominations for its annual Brilliance in Business Awards.

The awards were created as another vehicle for the City to connect with its business community. They aim to acknowledge the efforts businesses are making on behalf of their objectives and those of greater benefit to the community. The formal program, which conveys appreciation and acknowledges successful initiatives, projects, business practices and strategies is hoped to inspire, create momentum, increase satisfaction levels and stimulate further economic development. It also hopes to bring awareness to the level of diversity, creativity and corporate citizenship that epitomizes West Chicago business.

Last year, Casa Rios Bridal, The Jel Sert Company, Natural Healing Whole Dog Wellness, Ball Horticultural, Buck Services and We Grow Dreams received well-deserved recognition and are featured on a commemorative Brilliance in Business video that may be viewed on the city's website at www.westchicago.org/video/BiBawards2010.wmv.

Like last year, one winner will be chosen in each of the following six categories:

Small Business of the Year

Community Service Award

Economic Development Award

Community Image Award

Green Initiatives Award
