Lombard Fire Department Conducts Well-Being Checks on Residents After the Storm

Equipped with maps provided by Commonwealth Edison that showed significant power outages around the area, members of the Lombard Fire Department visited with infirm residents who were particularly hard hit and are likely to have extended outages.

"We wanted to help identify and offer assistance to any resident that is not mobile, with unique health conditions or medical needs," according to Lombard Fire Chief Mike Torrence.

Torrence reminds residents to be mindful of neighbors and family members that are still without power to do a well-being check.

"We encourage citizens to check on family members and neighbors that have special medical conditions that are coping with no power or the use of a telephone and may need assistance," added Torrence.
