Missing Wheaton woman found safe

A Wheaton woman reported missing Tuesday has been found safe, authorities said.

Wheaton Deputy Chief Tom Meloni said 52-year-old Victoria Kurtin was not a victim of any crime but further information will not be released because of privacy issues.

On Tuesday morning, relatives reported Kurtin had not been seen since Sunday evening and filed a missing persons report at 9 a.m. She had been seen driving a gray van in the area. Meloni said she was found Tuesday evening.

Meloni said he was thankful the case could be wrapped up quickly.

“I just want to thank people for their attention and their willingness to help and to the local media for their very timely release of the information,” he said.
