Chicago Rush game day

Utah Blaze vs. Chicago Rush, 7:30 p.m. Friday at Allstate Arena in Rosemont

Scouting the Rush: Rookie QB Dominic Randolph, who started in last Sunday’s win, is listed as the likely starter for Friday, as recently signed QB JJ Raterink is still learning the team’s offense. Head coach Bob McMillan said Randolph’s biggest weakness was taking too long to throw, something he has been working on throughout the week. The Rush (10-4) have added rookie DB Kelvyn Hemphill from Illinois State to the roster, after star DB Vic Hall was put on IR and will be out for 4 weeks with turf toe. A win Friday guarantees the Rush a spot in the playoffs.

Scouting the Blaze: Led by QB Tommy Grady, a 4-time offensive player of the week, the Blaze (7-7) are fourth in the National Conference, two spots behind the Rush and trying to hold on to a playoff bid. With already one of the top offenses in the league, the team recently added depth to its receiving corps by signing WR Michael Preston. The Blaze also signed LB Neli A’asa to help the defense. Utah is coming off a 61-60 win over Kansas City last Friday that saw Grady throw for 8 touchdowns and no interceptions.
