Sponsors Help Continue Libertyville Tradition

Once again, the Village of Libertyville will be able to continue its traditional fireworks display this Independence Day, thanks to another generous sponsorship by the Libertyville Mile of Cars. The Libertyville Mile of Cars, an association comprised of twelve local dealerships, will cover a third of the cost of the fireworks. The Village of Libertyville will continue to sponsor the remaining balance of the $15,000 total cost.

According to Libertyville Mayor, Terry L. Weppler, “While many communities have been forced to eliminate such celebrations, the Village is fortunate to have the support of the Libertyville Mile of Cars to offer the fireworks display which our residents enjoy. This is just one of the many ways our local businesses support the community and why we continue to ask our residents to Shop Libertyville.”

The Independence Day fireworks display is scheduled for dusk on July 4th (approximately 9:30 p.m.). The viewing area is in Butler Lake Park. Preceding the fireworks will be a performance by the Libertyville Band at 7:30 p.m. in the Butler Lake Bandshell. Butler Lake is located along Lake Street, approximately a half mile west of Milwaukee Avenue.

According to Glenn Bockwinkel, President of the Libertyville Mile of Cars and owner of Acura of Libertyville, “Our dealerships and their families have long enjoyed Libertyville's fireworks celebration and understand how much it means to this community. It is important to us to help the Village continue this tradition”.
