St. Bede Walk-a-thon a success
St. Bede Catholic School in Ingleside held its annual St. Bede Walk-a-thon and raised funds for new laptop computers and software.
The 300 students who attended the May 18 walk-a-thon also were able to exercise and socialize with the adults and their classmates during the event.
Students raised the money for new MacBook computers that will be available to all students in each classroom.
Officials would not release the final amount of money raised.
Teachers and students expressed gratitude to donors, sponsors and neighbors living in Emerald Estates for making the outing a successful.
The walk-a-thon was an individual sponsored program, and students were given sponsorship forms to raise money from family and friends. The sponsorships were not dependent on how many miles were walked.
People can still donate to help raise funds for St. Bede. For details, contact St. Bede’s at stbedeschool.pvt.k12.il.us, or call (847) 587-5541.
