Joint funeral Mass held for teen crash victims

The joint funeral Mass for Jessica Ferrer, 15, and Elibeth Solis, 16, both of Arlington Heights, was held this morning at Mission San Juan Diego, 2323 N. Wilke Road in Arlington Heights, but reporters were told to leave, so we will not have a report on the services.

Later today, visitation for Freddy Najera, 16, the other victim of Saturday's early morning fatal car crash in Prospect Heights, will be held from 2-9 p.m. at Matz Funeral Home, 410 E. Rand Road in Mount Prospect.

On Friday, prayers for Najera will be said at 9:15 a.m. at the funeral home, followed by a 10 a.m. funeral Mass at Maryville Academy, 1150 N. River Road in Des Plaines.

The teenagers were all thrown from the car and killed at about 3 a.m. Saturday when the car went off the roadway on Camp McDonald Road and hit a mailbox and two trees. A fourth passenger, Daniel Ascencio of Mount Prospect, survived with only minor injuries.
