Wauconda Fest is this weekend

Wauconda Fest rocks into town this year with several live bands carnival rides, family games, a 5K/10K race and a wine tasting event, among many others activities.

The annual festival runs Thursday, June 23, to Sunday, June 26, in Cook Park at N. Main Street in Wauconda.

The entry fee is $2 for all four days and includes a $200 giveaway each night of the event.

Among the events are a kids tie-dye T-shirt booth, Texas Hold’em Tournament, Bags Tournament, Taste of the Fest, the 20th annual car show and an entirely new “Wauconda Fest Has Talent.”

“Wauconda Fest Has Talent” encourages fest goers to fill out a Talent Show entry form ($20 per entry) and share your talent through singing, dancing or playing a musical instrument.

There also will be plenty of music. Scheduled bands include 7th Heaven, Rhythm Bones, Soul Cookin, Modern Day Romeos, Voyage, Heartache and the Beach Bum Band.

Organizers say Wauconda Fest offers a multitude of events for individuals of all ages.
