Community scholarship winners named

The Village of Schaumburg, in cooperation with The Workforce Board of Northern Cook County presented the 18th annual Community Scholarship awards at the village board meeting on June 14.

As a result of a joint scholarship development campaign in the business community, the village has been provided funding to award scholarships to qualified residents to pursue educational training, upgrading, or retraining. The scholarships can be applied towards tuition, books and any other commensurate educational expenses.

Jennifer Stasch, Executive Director of the Workforce Board in Northern Cook County, was there and introduced Jan Terry who presented the awards to the students. Ms. Stasch said that having an educated workforce is the way to get a job and keep a job in today's economy.

Winners of this year's awards are: Natalie F. Baldino, Nicole E. Baldino, Colleen Dhamer, Melissa Diehl, Nicole M. Duffy, Ellen Hanes, Michael Hoffman, Sarah R. Hoffman, Annushka Kannan, Nickolas T. Kioutas, Frank A. LaMantia, Joseph R. LaMantia, Claire Light, Nidhi Suresh Mistry, Palak S. Mistry, Sarah A. Morton, Kevin Osika, Aniket Minish Kumar Patel, Christina Salem, Amira Sebai, Urshit S. Shah, Betti Margit Varga, and Nick Yohe.
