Man charged in Glendale Heights record store robbery
A Chicago man is accused of robbing a Glendale Heights record store and restraining a female employee there at gunpoint, police said Wednesday.
Eliu Villicana-Mancilla, 26, of the 2600 block of Pulaski Road, was indicted by a DuPage County grand jury Tuesday on charges of armed robbery, armed violence and aggravated unlawful restraint.
Prosecutors said Villicana-Mancilla entered Teresa’s Discoteca, 2045 Bloomingdale Road, about 3:25 p.m. Feb. 21, held a handgun to the victim’s head, and forced her into a back office, where he bound her hands and feet with duct tape.
He told the woman “not to open the door or he would kill her,” authorities said, and then made off with $5,708 in cash, along with a cellphone, a laptop, jewelry and phone cards. No injuries were reported.
Prosecutors said an arrest warrant with a $300,000 bail was issued for Villicana-Mancilla, who was being held Wednesday in Lake County jail on an unrelated charge.
Calls to Teresa’s Discoteca were unanswered. Police said the victim did not know her attacker.
