Summer registration begins at Lake Co. Family YMCA

From Zumba, Kids Boot camp and fitness classes, to yoga and Pilates, there is something at the Y to get every body moving this summer.

The Lake County Family YMCA also is offering 5-percent off "summer 2 session" swim lessons for new participants and 10 percent off "summer 2 swim" lessons for those who have participated in summer 1 swim classes.

Registration begins June 27 at both Central Lake Y in Vernon Hills and Northern Lake Y in Waukegan.

Zumba incorporates beats and rhythms from Latin and jazz influences to get you moving. Fitter bodies will be the result of this high energy, engaging class.

Boot camp is an intense shape-up that tones muscles and burns fat.

Yoga consists of poses and breath work with a vinyasa sequence, while Pilates helps improve posture, increase muscle tone and decrease risk of injuries.

The Waukegan Y, 2000 Western Ave., has a lap pool, gym with running track, fitness center, weight room, adult spa area and sauna.

The Vernon Hills Y, 700 Lakeview Parkway, has a lap pool (equipped with play fountain structure and slide), fitness center, weight room, adult spa area, steam room and whirlpool.

Register in person or by phone (847) 367-6797 (Vernon Hills) or (847) 360-9622 (Waukegan).
