Chamber energy cooperative to save businesses money

The Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce is launching an energy cooperative with DaCott Energy that will save local businesses substantial money on their operational costs. While the business must have a connection locally, which could simply be through their Chamber membership, there are no geographic boundaries for the program. Businesses can be located in any de-regulated state in the country.

“This is a game-changing program for businesses in northern Illinois” said Mike Evans, executive director for the Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce. “It has been done to some extent in central and southern Illinois, but even those programs will not reach out into the wholesale market and provide the strategic buying power that our group will have.”

“Every business, regardless of size, should be completing this application. Even if they are already under contract with an energy supplier,” Evans stated. “The application is non-binding and it will provide them a comparative analysis to determine what they want to do in the future”.

DaCott Energy was organized in 2003 to provide innovative nationwide energy management services to both the regulated and deregulated markets including municipals, cooperatives, commercial and industrial clients. DaCott has since proven itself to be an industry leader, working with the majority of energy cooperatives in the state of Illinois and numerous national organizations.

DaCott offers the Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce the experience, knowledge and tools to manage their unique energy procurement opportunity.

Interested businesses should contact the Chamber directly at (630) 226-8420 for more information. A non-binding application needs to be completed so the cooperative can have an accurate picture of what the aggregated usage looks like. Pricing and contract terms will be presented to each business for approval.
