Schaumburg increases DUI patrols

Schaumburg police will have extra squad cars on patrol from Friday through July 4 to crack down on drunken driving.

An Illinois Department of Transportation grant will fund the additional patrols, part of the national “You Drink and Drive, You Lose” campaign.

Police also will look for speeders and seat belt violators during the enforcement campaign. The patrols won’t interfere will everyday police work, police said.
