Roselle should be more dog-friendly
Google the phrase “herodogs” or something similar and see what you get. Unfortunately, the dogs in the story “SEALs canine commando piques interest in war dogs” (May 28) or the dog that helped eliminate bin Laden or who have pulled children from burning buildings etc. are unwelcome at any public event, including Memorial Day events, in the “sophisticated” Village of Roselle.
Dogs were banned in the early 1990s from public events in Roselle, even though at the time they had done nothing and were accused of nothing. The latest excuse is that years ago one child was bitten. Like everything else the political hacks in Roselle touch, downtown redevelopment etc. it makes the village ridiculous and unfriendly.
No one outside the village is looking at Roselle as a fun destination or a place to spend their increasingly scarce dollars. Meanwhile, unsophisticated London, Paris, New York and most well-run municipalities here and across the country take the opposite tack.
